I believe in free choice, full stop. The government has no business in a woman's body or in the exam room. That decision belongs to the patient and her doctor — not to politicians in Concord who've never met her.
What do you think about Right to Work law?
Labor unions are the only real leverage working people have. Without collective bargaining, workers get squeezed while profits go up. Every year or so, New Hampshire Republicans try to ram through an anti-union Right to Work law — and every year I'll vote no. I'm here to fight for the working class, not for the corporations and billionaires who get richer when unions get weaker.
How would you address climate change?
The climate is changing. New Hampshire is heating up, and Republicans — in Concord and in Washington — keep working to slow down or gut the little progress we've made. It's late in the game, but we can still act if we're willing to do the hard work and spend the money, instead of pouring billions into foreign wars and handouts to the fossil fuel industry. Republicans have been in lockstep with Big Oil for over a hundred years. In the New Hampshire State House, I'll push to end our dependence on energy shipped in from out of state and go all-in on wind and solar. What are your thoughts about Public Education?
More than 160,000 students attend NH Public Schools. We must ensure those students, our children, have the resources they need to succeed. Now the NH GOP is working with national anti-public school groups to weaken schools like Kennett High School so they eventually fail. The GOP majority has cut state revenues coming to local towns and caused property taxes to soar. I will work to restore those state revenues to provide our children the resources they need to succeed while lowering our local property taxes.
What can state government do to help provide affordable housing for Conway, NH.
I will promote legislation supporting state investment in water and sewer infrastructure to help communities like Conway build more housing for first time buyers, young families, working residents and seniors.
